I was struggling with my fundamentals class and was barely making it with a C. I got this book 75% through my semester and my test grades increased dramatically. They went from me getting 70's to getting high B's. I wish I would have bought it before the semester started...so I really recommend this book if you are taking fundamentals. It helps greatly with test taking skills and it also gives you rationales as to why an answer would be incorrect...something that some teachers fail to do. This gave me a better understanding of things! I'm keeping it to help me with my NCLEX and HESI exit test! I started off with no hope for passing the course and ended up with a B in the class. Highly satisfied! I will be buying all the series for my future nursing courses!
I recommend this book for nursing students, especially if you are still learning how to answer NCLEX style questions effectively. This book offers a ton of NCLEX style questions that will also help you with your exams in class. I still use this book as a refresher when I feel like I'm getting rusty on my fundamentals. No matter wherr you go or how far you've progressed, your knowledge rests on your fundamentals background, and that's why I also think it's important to use this book throughout your nursing school career.
Thanks for helping me get an A in my first theory/fundamentals term. I'd say doing these was more helpful than textbook studying or lecture notes! Mirrors the NCLEX style questions so I was confident when similar ones popped up on the final ;)
Love this book I was struggling with critical thinking in nursing and this book helped me alot I picked up my grade from a C to a B but probably could have done better if I ordered it in the beginning of the semester. I will be also ordering the medical surgical success book as well because it gives you the rationales for the right and wrong answers
This book helped me quite a bit in Fundamentals. Half the battle in the nursing program is understanding that it isn't about which answer is right, it's about which answer is the MOST right. This book has a number of tests that help you practice HOW to take nursing exams, which really will save you throughout the program. It's a good buy.
I have found the success books to be very helpful throughout nursing school. They are full of practice questions organized into sections depending on the topic. This is one I used religiously and loved it. I would definitely recommend it to any nursing student for use as practice before tests. The med-surg success is wonderful too.
Such a great book for nursing school to prepare me for the exams - the many questions for each topic come with rationales as to why the answers are correct/incorrect.
Great, some questions are a little past what I've currently learned but will be useful as a review for the NCLEX. Four stars because it doesn't actually summarize any of the material as some of the other review books do. I also don't really find the list of terms to be familiar with helpful as explanations aren't provided.
