Complete text! If you bought one large animal medicine book in vet school I would go with this one. Just about every professor I have had has more or less taught straight out of this book, and if your small animal focus you can get what you need from here till you take your boards, and then you will only have one paper weight after vet school. More or less if you have a professor that uses sparse slides and lacks long notes, you can get a complete story from here. I will fault the book on that it likes to beat around bush for a few paragraphs before getting to the point or to the critical information. With that said the book does give a nice background and narrative to the diseases and treatments, and if your like me and have to understand something before you can commit it to memory then you will certainly enjoy this book it does a good job of explaining disease and the rational of treatment and management which is extensive in the large animal field.
